HARLINGEN, TX (August 17, 2026) – Saturday night, a disastrous 2-vehicle crash on FM 106 and Garza Road sent 5 people to the hospital.

The incident happened at around 5:26 p.m. on FM 106 and Garza Road.

Five people, including three children, were hospitalized.

The Rio Hondo Volunteer Fire Department responded to the collision, which involved a black SUV and a white pickup truck, according to photos released by city officials.

Two adults and three children were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash, according to the Rio Hondo fire chief.
