Man Injured in Disastrous 2-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 29

Injuries Reported in Platte County Auto Accident on Interstate 29

PLATTE COUNTY, MO (July 12, 2026) – Friday morning, a Parkville man sustained injuries in a disastrous 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 29.

The incident involving two vehicles happened just before 5:15 a.m. on northbound Interstate 29 at the seven-mile marker.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 49-year-old Parkville man was seriously injured after his sport utility vehicle struck a stopped tractor-trailer.

Troopers said a tractor-trailer driven by a 27-year-old man from Urbandale, Iowa, was stopped on the roadway and partially blocking the right lane when the SUV collided with the trailer. The SUV then overturned before coming to rest.

The Parkville man was transported to North Kansas City Hospital with serious injuries.

The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
