AMARILLO, TX (August 24, 2026) – Sunday, a person was hospitalized after a disastrous 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 near Bell Street.

The crash between a car and a semi happened on Interstate 40 between Bell Street and Western Street.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department, one person was taken to an area hospital in critical condition following a crash near the underpass before the Western Street exit for eastbound drivers.

A tow truck removed the damaged vehicle shortly before 12:30 a.m. Sunday, and traffic began clearing around 1 a.m.
