SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 20, 2025) – Tuesday afternoon, a bus driver suffered injuries in a disastrous auto accident on Highway 281 N at Redland Road.

The incident involving two North East ISD buses happened at about 4:00 p.m. on US Highway 281 North at Redlands Road.

District officials said a bus driver was taken to the hospital after a crash involving Tejeda Middle School students. The driver’s condition is unknown. All 66 students were evaluated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

The exit reopened around 6 p.m.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
