7 People Hurt in Peoria Bus Accident on 83rd Avenue and Sweetwater Avenue

PEORIA, AZ (January 19, 2026) – Friday afternoon, a disastrous bus crash on 83rd Avenue and Sweetwater Avenue injured seven people.

The incident happened at around 2:00 p.m. on 83rd Avenue and Sweetwater Avenue.

According to reports, a bus failed to stop on time and struck another bus that was stopped at a red light.

Moreover, officers confirmed that five children who were occupants of a bus that was returning from a field trip to the Pioneer Living History Museum were transported to a hospital for treatment. Also, paramedics transported two adults to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, the crash closed 83rd Avenue and both directions of Sweetwater Avenue.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Peoria Police continued investigating the crash.
