Injuries Reported in Albuquerque Auto Accident near Coors Bypass and Ellison Drive NW

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (October 14, 2025) – Sunday, Seth Mitchell was arrested after a disastrous car crash near Coors Bypass and Ellison Drive NW.

The incident happened at around 3:12 a.m. near the intersection of Coors Bypass and Ellison Drive NW.

Police say a white Ford work van driven by 25-year-old Seth Mitchell ran a red light at high speed on Coors and crashed into a white Honda that was traveling westbound on Ellison with a green light. The impact caused the Honda to flip several times.

The driver of the Honda sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Officers said that when they spoke with Mitchell, they noticed slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol. Mitchell initially refused a sobriety test, citing a medical condition that made it difficult to walk or balance due to bolts in his leg and foot.

After officers offered an alternative seated test, he eventually agreed but performed poorly.

Mitchell was taken into custody at the scene and arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) resulting in Great Bodily Harm.
