Disastrous Collision on State Route 507 Injures 2 People [Yelm, WA]

Two Hospitalized After Crash Near Pierce-Thurston County Line

Yelm, WA (September 5, 2026) — On Thursday morning, two drivers went to a hospital after a collision on State Route 507 near the Pierce-Thurston County line.

The Washington State Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 6:37 a.m. near 320th Street in unincorporated Pierce County. A 41-year-old Roy woman was traveling west on 320th Street South when she turned north onto State Route 507 and collided with a 47-year-old Yelm man traveling north on the highway.

Both drivers sustained injuries and received treatment at a local hospital. Investigators attributed the crash to the Roy driver failing to stop at a stop sign. Authorities reported that neither drugs nor alcohol played a role.

The collision blocked the roadway for about 1 hour and 29 minutes while crews responded and cleared the scene.

Focus on the Road

Millions of people take to the roads for work, school, errands, or leisure. While many of these trips are uneventful, accidents can happen in the blink of an eye. Traffic accidents can change lives in an instant, causing physical injuries, emotional trauma, and financial hardship.

Wearing your seatbelt is the simplest and most effective way to protect yourself in an accident. It can reduce the risk of serious injury or death by up to 50%.

Similarly, texting, talking on the phone, eating, or doing anything else that takes your eyes off the road for even a second can have disastrous consequences. Keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.

Always drive cautiously and be aware of road conditions to prevent accidents. Quick and safe responses can save lives in emergencies.

If you suffer injuries in a traffic crash, seek prompt medical care and keep records of your treatment and expenses. An experienced personal injury attorney can help you understand your rights and potential compensation.
