PACIFIC GROVE, CA (May 18, 2026) – Saturday, a 39-year-old man sustained injuries in a disastrous head-on crash on 17-Mile Drive and Congress Road.

The incident happened at about 3:00 p.m. on 17-Mile Drive, west of Congress Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 39-year-old Pacific Grove man driving a Corvette eastbound on 17-Mile Drive crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with a westbound tour bus.

The bus was driven by a 62-year-old man from Hesperia and had 48 passengers on board at the time of the crash.

Authorities said a 60-year-old woman sustained suspected minor injuries. Investigators noted that alcohol and speed appear to be factors, though responsibility has not yet been determined.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials said the information is preliminary and subject to change.
