ANGELS CAMP, CA (June 25, 2026) – Thursday night, a disastrous motorcycle crash on Highway 49 near Deer Creek Road led to injuries.

The collision occurred at about 6:13 p.m. and involved a dark blue Hyundai Elantra and a motorcycle. It happened on Highway 49 near Deer Creek Road, said the California Highway Patrol.

CHP logs indicated the motorcycle came to rest in a ditch, while the rider was found in the northbound lanes of Highway 49. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, and traffic was affected in the area as crews worked the incident.

Authorities later upgraded the crash from an injury collision to a major injury collision.

A tow truck was requested to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
