Injuries Reported in Columbia Pedestrian Accident on N Providence Road and E Texas Avenue

COLUMBIA, MO (February 11, 2025) – Monday, a woman suffered injuries in a disastrous pedestrian crash on N Providence Road and E Texas Avenue.

Alejandro Figueroa-Saez said a blue Toyota struck a woman who was crossing the street. He added that another truck then ran over her arm before he rushed into the middle of Providence Road to try and stop traffic.

An attendant at the Eagle Stop gas station said she also witnessed the woman getting hit shortly before Saez intervened. However, she chose to remain anonymous due to her company’s media policy.

The incident comes as Missouri roadways have seen over 900 fatalities in 2024, with pedestrian deaths reaching a record high. Despite this, the Missouri Department of Transportation says progress is being made under its strategic highway safety plan, Show-Me Zero.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
