Injuries Reported in Adair County Auto Accident on Missouri Route O

ADAIR COUNTY, MO (April 1, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a disastrous rollover crash on Missouri Route O injured five people.

The incident happened at about 3:45 p.m. on Missouri Route O, about six miles north of Novinger, Mo.

Authorities said a 16-year-old girl from Kirksville was driving south on Route O when the vehicle ran off the road. She overcorrected, causing it to overturn.

The driver suffered moderate injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia.

Four passengers sustained minor injuries: a 16-year-old boy from Edina, a 17-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy from Novinger, and a 20-year-old man from Novinger. All were taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville for treatment.

Officials said none of the passengers were wearing seat belts, and it was not known if the driver was restrained.
