DENTON COUNTY, TX (April 13, 2025) – Friday night, the investigation continues after a disastrous small plane crash near 15663 Cessna Road.

The incident involving a 2019 Saberwing Lightsport aircraft occurred at around 7:10 p.m. near 15663 Cessna Road at Propwash Airport. 

A plane crashed under unknown circumstances, the Justin Fire Department reported.

According to a witness, the aircraft appeared to experience mechanical issues before the pilot attempted to return to the airport. The plane went down before making it back.

Officials are still determining how many people were on board and assessing the extent of any injuries.

“We are actively working to gather more information and ensure the safety of those in the surrounding area,” said Justin Fire Chief Matthew Mitchell. “Our thoughts are with those involved and their families.”

The crash site and surrounding area have been secured, and residents are asked to stay clear to give emergency crews room to work and preserve the scene.

Multiple agencies are now investigating, including the NTSB, FAA, Texas DPS, Denton County Sheriff’s Office, and local police and fire departments.
