PHOENIX, AZ (April 9, 2026) – Wednesday morning, a disastrous small plane crash near 39th Street and Carefree Highway injured 2.

The incident happened at around 10:45 a.m. near 39th Street and Carefree Highway.

Authorities responded to a small Cessna that had flipped onto its roof in the desert near Carefree Highway and Black Mountain Parkway, close to the Cave Creek Landfill.

Fire crews reported no fire or fuel leak at the scene. Both occupants were able to exit the aircraft on their own and were transported to a hospital as a precaution, with stable conditions.
