Injuries Reported in Orcutt Rollover Accident on Highway 135 near South Y

ORCUTT, CA (May 26, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a disastrous solo-vehicle crash on Highway 135 near South Y injured 2 people.

The incident happened at around 4:40 p.m. on Highway 135 south of Orcutt.

Personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and Vandenberg Space Force Base Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on northbound Highway 135 just north of the South Y area, according to spokesperson Karen Cruz-Orduña.

Dispatch reports indicated a Ford truck rolled at least once and ejected both occupants. Two patients were transported by American Medical Response ambulances to Marian Regional Medical Center.

Northbound traffic on the stretch of roadway, also known as Highway 1, was briefly diverted onto Graciosa Road while emergency crews worked at the scene. One lane reopened around 5:15 p.m., and the second followed shortly after 6 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol Santa Maria area office is investigating the cause of the crash.
