Injuries Reported in Boyle Heights Auto Accident on Lorena Street and Cesar Chavez Avenue

BOYLE HEIGHTS, CA (July 8, 2026) – Tuesday afternoon, a disastrous traffic crash on Lorena Street and Cesar Chavez Avenue injured 4 people.

The incident happened just after 3:00 p.m. on Lorena Street and Cesar Chavez Avenue, said the Los Angeles Fire Department.

At least two vehicles were involved in a crash that left a white sport utility vehicle on a sidewalk in front of a restaurant, authorities said.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, three people were transported to hospitals, while another person was treated and released at the scene. The conditions of the hospitalized patients were not immediately available.

Unconfirmed reports indicated one patient was in grave condition and may have died at a hospital. Other reports from the scene said a woman suffered a broken leg and a man sustained a head injury.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
