6 People Hurt in Amarillo Auto Accident on Interstate 40 and Hope Road

AMARILLO, TX (August 3, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a disastrous two-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 and Hope Road injured six people.

The incident happened at around 11:45 a.m. on Interstate 40 service road and Hope Road.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Cindy Barkley, a dump truck struck a BMW that failed to yield the right of way at the intersection.

Moreover, responders transported two occupants of the BMW with life-threatening injuries and four other BMW occupants with non-life-threatening injuries, to a hospital for treatment.

At this time, the circumstances involved in the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
