Toppenish, WA (August 26, 2026) – A driver and a passenger were killed in a Highway 97 collision Sunday evening.

It was past 7 p.m. on August 23 when the deadly crash 14 miles south of Toppenish.

Responding officers determined a Ford F150 was southbound when it left the road.

The vehicle pickup then crashed and caught fire. 

Sadly, both the driver and passenger died at the crash scene.

Investigators determined the passenger was not wearing their seatbelt during the collision.

Police officers are conducting a further investigation into the fatal accident.
