Motorcyclist Killed in Howard County Crash on US Highway 87

Howard County, TX (March 7, 2025) – 76-year-old Domingo Rios of Big Spring died Wednesday afternoon after a tragic crash on US 87.

According to officials, the deadly crash happened around 3:46 p.m. on US Highway 87 at Driver Street.

Reports say that the crash claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Howard County.

Authorities reported that 23-year-old Keeneth Leatherwood of Snyder, Texas, was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup northeast in the outside lane.

While making a left turn onto Driver St., Leatherwood failed to yield the right of way, colliding with a 2001 Harley Davidson Dyna ridden by Rios.

Emergency responders transported Rios to Scenic Mountain Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. Officials continue to investigate the crash.
