Phoenix, AZ (April 19, 2025) – 23-year-old Donnie Martinez and 35-year-old Ricardo Quintero died in a head-on crash on 43rd Avenue.

A crash in Phoenix on Friday night claimed the lives of two men. Around 10:30 p.m., Phoenix Police responded to a collision near 43rd Avenue and Orangewood Avenue, just north of Glendale Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles involved in the crash. Emergency crews transported both drivers to the hospital with serious injuries. 

Despite medical efforts, both men later died from their injuries.

According to investigators, Martinez was driving northbound on 43rd Avenue when he veered into oncoming traffic and struck Quintero’s vehicle head-on.

Police have not yet determined whether impairment played a role in the crash. That determination will depend on pending toxicology results.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
