Kenyasha Hansen Arrested After High-Speed Chase Crash on Truman Road

Kansas City, Mo (June 13, 2025) – A driver sustained life-threatening injuries in a high-speed crash on Truman Road involving Kenyasha Hansen.

Authorities have charged a Kansas City woman with multiple felonies after she led police on a high-speed chase and caused a serious crash that left another driver with life-threatening injuries.

On Thursday, Jackson County court documents revealed that prosecutors charged Kenyasha Hansen with aggravated fleeing from a traffic stop resulting in physical injury, and second-degree assault.

According to the Independence Police Department, officers attempted to pull Hansen over for speeding—she was driving 53 mph in a 35-mph zone.

Although Hansen initially stopped her Buick, she accelerated away when the officer approached her near Truman Road and Northern Boulevard.

Officers pursued Hansen’s vehicle. During the chase, Hansen called her boyfriend, who then drove a gold Lexus and ran a stop sign to cut off pursuing officers, diverting their attention.

As officers began following the Lexus, Hansen’s Buick crashed at high speed.

Court records indicate that Hansen sped through a red light at the intersection of Blue Ridge Cutoff and 55th Street at an estimated 100 mph.

Her vehicle collided with a Ford F-150, causing life-threatening injuries to the truck’s driver, including a lacerated spleen and multiple broken bones.

Hansen also suffered a broken femur in the crash.

A witness stated that Hansen admitted, “I was running from the police,” after getting out of the vehicle.

The crash occurred just before 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11.

Emergency responders transported both Hansen and the F-150 driver to the hospital.

Authorities also reported that Hansen has never held a valid Missouri driver’s license. Court documents listed her bond at $25,000.
