Toyota Driver Injured in Deadly 2-Vehicle Crash on Weedpatch Highway [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (April 21, 2025) – A 39-year-old man driving a Toyota was injured in a deadly 2-vehicle crash on Weedpatch Highway late Friday night.

The fatal crash happened around 10:05 p.m. at the intersection with Wilson Road.

According to the investigators, a 57-year-old man was driving a southbound Ford swerved into the northbound lane and collided with a Toyota driven by the 39-year-old man traveling north.

Responding officers declared the Ford driver deceased at the scene. 

Moreover, the rescuers rushed the Toyota driver to Kern Medical for treatment.

Troopers closed Weedpatch Highway in both directions from Muller Road to Redbank Road while they investigated.

It is still unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.
