Driver Hurt in Fatal Crash on Yew Way [Snohomish, WA]

Snohomish, WA (May 28, 2025) — Authorities in Snohomish are investigating two connected crashes that ended in a fatal head-on crash on Yew Way Monday night.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, a 55-year-old driver allegedly struck a Ford Mustang near 180th Street SE west of Broadway Avenue and fled the scene without stopping.

Investigators said the driver continued southbound on Broadway at a high speed before crossing into oncoming traffic near Yew Way, just south of the train tracks. The vehicle then crashed head-on into a northbound Toyota Camry.

Deputies responded to the scene around 10:40 p.m. The 55-year-old driver, who was involved in both crashes, died at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota Camry suffered minor injuries but declined transportation to a hospital. Officials said no other major injuries were reported.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will release the identity of the deceased driver, along with the official cause and manner of death. Detectives continue to investigate the incidents.
