Pickup Truck Driver Injured in Big Rig Crash on Maple Avenue [Fresno, CA]

Fresno, CA (April 21, 2026) – A pickup truck driver, a 24-year-old Fowler man, sustained injuries following a big rig crash on Maple Avenue Friday.

Troopers said the 24-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck southbound on Maple Avenue, toward the intersection with American Avenue.

At the same time, a three-axle Volvo big rig driven by a 22-year-old Fresno man, was westbound on American Avenue toward Maple Avenue.

According to the accident report, the big rig failed to stop for the stop sign and rear-ended the Chevrolet pickup at the intersection. 

As a result, the pickup spun out, struck a telephone pole, and rested against an orchard.

The pickup driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries, and was rushed to the hospital, while the big rig driver was not hurt in the collision.
