TRAVIS COUNTY, TX (September 9, 2026) – A pickup truck driver suffered serious injuries in a crash near Tesla Road and FM 973 after colliding with a large construction vehicle on Wednesday morning, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

Emergency crews responded to the crash at approximately 8:33 a.m.

ATCEMS said the pickup driver became trapped inside the vehicle following the collision. Rescue crews worked to extricate the driver from the wreckage.

After freeing the injured motorist, first responders prepared the patient for air transport.

STAR Flight flew the driver to Dell Seton Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities described the injuries as serious but not expected to be life-threatening.
