CHP Investigates Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 86 in North County

North County, CA (September 29, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash on Highway 86 on Monday morning sent one driver to the hospital after firefighters extricated them from a pickup truck.

The collision was reported at about 9 a.m. on Highway 86 at Marina Drive. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Nissan struck a white pickup, which then collided with a red Dodge Ram.

First responders found the pickup driver unconscious inside the vehicle. County firefighters worked to extricate the victim, who was later transported to a hospital for treatment. 

Officials have not released the driver’s condition.

CHP confirmed the highway was never fully blocked, though traffic slowed while crews responded and investigated. 

The crash remains under investigation.
