3 People Injured After Multi-Vehicle Crash on 210 Freeway in Sylmar

SYLMAR, CA (June 5, 2026)— One person suffered critical injuries Friday morning after a multi-vehicle crash on 210 Freeway involving two big rigs, an SUV, and at least one other vehicle.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash began around 1:45 a.m. just east of Roxford Street when an SUV stopped in traffic and was struck.

The collision triggered a chain-reaction crash involving two big rigs, the SUV, and another vehicle.

The impact left the cab of one big rig hanging over the side of the freeway. Emergency crews had to extricate the big rig driver from the cab. Los Angeles Fire Department officials said the driver was freed and transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Two other drivers were also taken to the hospital in fair condition.

CHP issued a SigAlert and closed all eastbound lanes of the 210 Freeway. Motorists were diverted off the freeway at Roxford Street.

Cleanup was expected to take several hours because crews had to remove both big rigs from the scene. Hazmat crews also responded to clean up a fuel leak that spilled onto the freeway.

Officials expected the SigAlert to remain in place until around 8 a.m.

Authorities have not yet determined why the SUV was stopped on the freeway.

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
