Driver Arrested in Kennewick DUI Crash
Kennewick, WA (November 16, 2025) – A Ford driver was injured following a pursuit crash on Interstate 182 Thursday morning.
WSP officers said it was around 2:40 a.m. when an officer spotted a speeding Hyundai Elantra with Florida plates on Route 250 near Steptoe Street.
The officer attempted to stop the car but it sped off. The officer started a chase.
The car drove towards George Washington Way in Richland and the officer stopped the chase due to the construction taking place in the area.
Later on, one of the officers saw the Elantra onto Interstate 182 and started another chase. The car then sped westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-182 and collided head-on into a Ford Fiesta.
The Ford’s driver was rushed to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
Officers said five people were in the Elantra during the crash and one of them was trapped in the back seat. Two people attempted to run away from the scene, but the authorities detained all five occupants.
One of the Elantra occupants was a runaway juvenile while the Elantra was later discovered to be stolen.
Troopers spotted signs of impairment from the driver, and they were booked at the Benton County Jail on criminal charges. The passengers, on the other hand, were not arrested.
