CHP Seeks Semi-Truck That Left Scene After Crash on  Interstate 580 in Livermore

LIVERMORE, CA (April 30, 2026)— A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 580 in Livermore killed one person Thursday morning, and authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify a semi-truck that left the scene.

The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened just before 7 a.m. on eastbound I-580, east of North Livermore Avenue. 

The collision initially blocked the three right lanes of the highway and caused major traffic delays.

CHP later confirmed the crash as a fatal incident. Investigators said the collision involved three vehicles: a gray Nissan Armada, a gray Toyota Tundra, and a semi-truck of unknown color without a trailer.

According to CHP, the semi-truck continued eastbound on I-580 and did not stop after the collision. The crash caused the Toyota Tundra to overturn, killing its driver.

CHP reported no other injuries.

The investigation forced officials to close the right four lanes of eastbound I-580 for about three hours while officers examined the scene and cleared the roadway.

Authorities are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the crash or can help identify the semi-truck that left the scene.

CHP has not released additional information about what caused the crash.
