Sacramento, CA (January 15, 2026) — A man sustained serious injuries in a crash on Interstate 5 involving a dump truck Thursday evening in the Natomas area, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. on the southbound side of I-5 near the Arena Boulevard exit. 

CHP investigators reported that the man’s vehicle struck the rear of a dump truck that was traveling ahead of him.

Emergency responders arrived promptly and transported the injured driver to a local hospital. 

He suffered major injuries, though no additional details about his condition have been released at this time.

Authorities stated that drugs or alcohol are not suspected in this incident.
