Man Dead After DUI Crash at Buchanan Road in Pittsburg

PITTSBURG, CA (February 27, 2026) — A 46-year-old Concord man died Thursday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a sedan in a crash at Buchanan Road that police believe involved a suspected DUI driver.

Pittsburg police responded to the scene around 4:45 p.m. near Buchanan Road and Woodborough Place. 

When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist down in the roadway. 

First responders and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the rider succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Authorities have not publicly identified the victim, pending confirmation of his identity and notification of his next of kin.

Police arrested a 37-year-old Pittsburg resident who was driving the sedan on suspicion of driving under the influence. 

Officers reported that the driver remained at the scene following the collision and did not suffer any injuries.

Investigators have not released additional details regarding how the crash occurred and stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
