Police Investigate Two-Vehicle Crash on Carlsbad Boulevard
Carlsbad, CA (March 18, 2026) – Several people suffered injuries in a suspected DUI crash on Carlsbad Boulevard Tuesday night, according to police.
The collision happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Carlsbad Boulevard between Tamarack Avenue and Cannon Road.
Authorities said two vehicles were involved in the crash, and several people sustained injuries.
Carlsbad Police reported that no one suffered major injuries.
Police arrested one person involved in the collision. According to Carlsbad Police Lt. Cosgrove, investigators suspect drugs and/or alcohol played a role in the crash.
Officials have not yet determined the cause of the collision or confirmed how many people were involved.
Investigators are also looking into initial reports of a “person with a gun.” Lt. Cosgrove told NBC 7 that police are examining that possibility as part of the ongoing investigation.
The crash shut down southbound Carlsbad Boulevard between Tamarack Avenue and Cannon Road for several hours while officers worked at the scene and continued their investigation.
Authorities have not released additional details.
