1 Person Arrested in Butte County Auto Accident on Highway 70 and Palermo Road

BUTTE COUNTY, CA (January 25, 2026) – Thursday night, a disastrous DUI crash on Highway 70 and Palermo Road injured one person.

The incident started at around 10:00 p.m. when a Chevy pickup collided with a Nissan while making a U-turn.

According to reports, the driver and passenger of the pickup fled the scene after the crash.

Moreover, responders transported the driver of the Nissan to a hospital with a broken leg and cuts to the head.

Furthermore, officers managed to locate and arrest the driver and passenger of the pickup for DUI and hit and run.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP unit continued investigating the crash.
