2 People Dead in Ventura County Auto Accident on State Route 1 near Solimar Beach Road

VENTURA COUNTY, CA (June 14, 2026) – Thursday night, a devastating DUI crash on State Route 1 near Solimar Beach Road killed two people.

The incident happened at around 7:08 p.m. on State Route 1 near Solimar Beach Road.

According to reports, a northbound gray Nissan Frontier pickup truck veered onto the right shoulder of the roadway and into the designated bike lane and struck three northbound bicyclists. Then, the vehicle continued traveling before it crashed into a metal guardrail.

Moreover, responders pronounced one of the victims dead at the scene. Then, paramedics rushed a second bicyclist to a hospital, where the patient was later pronounced dead. Also, paramedics transported the third bicyclist to Ventura County Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries.

Furthermore, officers arrested the 24-year-old male driver of the vehicle for DUI.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the California Highway Patrol-Ventura Area continued investigating the crash.
