Dusty Dickerson and Passenger Injured in RM 2381 Deadly Collision [Bushland, TX]

Bushland, TX (January 23, 2026) – A 40-year-old driver, Dusty Dickerson, and his 12-year-old girl passenger, both from Channing, were injured in an RM 2381 deadly crash Wednesday night.

The deadly vehicle collision occurred around 7:06 p.m. north of Bushland.

Investigators said a 2001 Honda Accord driven by 27-year old Travis Reed of Fort Worth, was southbound on RM 2381.

At the same time, a 2017 Ford Expedition driven by Dickerson, was northbound on the same road.

Suddenly, the Honda crossed onto the northbound lane and struck the Ford that immediately caught fire.

Fortunately, Dickerson and his passenger were able to get out of their vehicle before it became fully engulfed. They were both transported to an area hospital.

Dickerson was seriously injured while the 12-year-old girl sustained minor injuries.

Responding officers declared Reed deceased at the scene.

In the meantime, the authorities are conducting a further investigation into the deadly crash.
