Tombstone Mayor Dusty Escapule Injured in E Fremont Street Collision [Tucson, AZ]

Tucson, AZ (May 13, 2026) – Tombstone Mayor Dusty Escapule was injured following an E Fremont collision Tuesday morning.

It was past 9:30 a.m. on May 12 when two vehicles collided near N San Diego Street in Tombstone.

According to the investigators, a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 was turning left to Camino San Rafael when it was struck by a 2023 Dodge Ram 3500 van that was traveling west on Fremont Street.

Afterward, the van swerved onto a parked car while the truck, driven by Mayor Escapule, drove off the shoulder of the road.

Rescuers rushed to the scene and transported Mayor Escapule to the Canyon Vista Medical Center.

The van driver, on the other hand, was not hurt in the crash.
