Two Lives Lost in Early Morning Newhall Crash

Santa Clarita, CA (March 3, 2026) — Early Sunday morning, 2 people were killed in a devastating crash on Newhall Avenue in Santa Clarita.

Authorities say that the collision happened around 6:50 a.m. at the intersection with Sierra Highway.

Reports from the the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the crash involved two vehicles and three individuals. First responders pronounced two victims dead at the scene. One of them was trapped inside a vehicle, forcing crews to carry out an extrication operation.

A third person involved in the crash did not suffer injuries and remained at the scene for evaluation.

Authorities closed Newhall Avenue toward Main Street for several hours as investigators examined the wreckage and crews worked to clear debris. Officials have not yet released the identities of the victims. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
