Man on Electric Scooter Killed in West Phoenix Hit-and-Run

Phoenix, AZ (August 20, 2025) – A hit-and-run driver fatally struck 59-year-old Eden Cuautli Zacatelco riding an electric scooter Saturday night in west Phoenix.

Police said the crash happened just after 7:30 p.m. near 67th Avenue and Indian School Road. Officers found Zacatelco unresponsive in the roadway.

Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, but he later died from his injuries.

Investigators believe Zacatelco was heading west on Indian School Road when a black truck hit him and fled the scene before help arrived. Authorities continue to search for the driver.
