1 Dead in Phoenix Pedestrian Accident near 50th Street and McDowell Road

PHOENIX, AZ (December 2, 2024) – Friday night, Edroy McCormick died in a brutal pedestrian crash near 50th Street.

The incident between a motorcycle and a pedestrian happened at around 6:15 p.m. near 50th Street and McDowell Road.

First responders arrived at the scene and found 36-year-old McCormick critically injured. He was transported to the hospital, where he later died. 

Detectives reported that McCormick was not in a crosswalk when he crossed McDowell Road and was struck by the motorcycle. 

The motorcyclist initially fled the area but returned during the investigation. Police stated that impairment was not a factor in the crash, and no arrests have been made.
