Eduardo Medina-Piceno and Tanner Russell Killed in Fiery 2-Vehicle Crash on Eaton Road [Chico, CA]

Chico, CA (April 14, 2023) – On Thursday, Eduardo Medina-Piceno, 19, and Tanner Russell, 21, lost their lives in a fiery 2-vehicle crash on Eaton Road.

The accident report indicated that Tanner Russell was the driver and Medina-Piceno, who just graduated from Chico High School last year, was the passenger.

Apparently, the car struck a semi-truck that was hauling logs and was parted into two pieces. The car burst into flames at the Chevron gas station located at the intersection with Esplanade. 

One of the two deceased died at the scene while the other was taken to a hospital where the victim was declared dead.

The Chico Police Department is investigating the fatal accident.
