Laredo, TX (April 18, 2026) — 21-year-old Eduardo Olvera led a high-speed police pursuit that ended in a violent crash with an 18-wheeler, leaving nine people injured, including a teenager who required advanced medical care.

Authorities said the incident began around 5 a.m. near Mines Road when officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Olvera. Instead of pulling over, he sped away southbound on Interstate 35 before exiting and colliding with a large truck near Calton Road and Santa Ursula Avenue.
