Bellmead Vehicle Crash Under Investigation

Bellmead, TX (July 1, 2024) – Passenger Eduardo Soto Salaices, 20, of Durango, Mexico, was killed in a DUI Crash on Katy Lane Thursday evening.

It was about 7:15 p.m. when the collision involving a GMC Sierra happened near Preston Lane.

Investigators said the GMC Sierra was traveling on Katy Lane when the driver went through a curve too quickly, swerved off the road, and struck a tree.

One of the passengers, Eduardo Soto Salaices, was killed at the scene.

Three others were transported to Baylor Scott and White in Waco for non-life-threatening injuries. Another person was rushed to the same hospital with critical injuries.

The authorities said the crash involved a man who was under the influence of alcohol. Alfonso Estrada-Salinas, 34, of Waco, was arrested with charges of felony intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter.
