Edwin Alexander Killed in Traffic Accident on Twin Peaks Road [Marana, AZ]

Marana, AZ (November 2, 2025) — Authorities identified 53-year-old Edwin Alexander as the bicyclist who died in a crash with a cement truck near Twin Peaks Wednesday morning.

According to the Marana Police Department, the crash happened around 8:30 a.m. near Camino De Manana.

Investigators said both Alexander and the cement truck were traveling north on Twin Peaks and waiting at a red light. When the signal turned green, both drivers began moving forward, and the collision occurred just north of the intersection.

The cement truck’s driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police have not issued any citations or made arrests as the investigation remains ongoing.

Alexander, affectionately known as “Big E” within Tucson’s cycling community, was admired for his dedication to the sport and his positive spirit. Fellow cyclists and friends described him as passionate, kind, and always encouraging others to keep going. Plans for a memorial ride are underway to honor his memory.
