Eileen Teresa Fred Arrested in Fatal Crash on State Route 29 [Clear Lake, CA]

Clear Lake, CA (June 20, 2025) — A late-night crash in Lakeport left one woman dead and three children injured, leading to the arrest of 22-year-old Eileen Teresa Fred, a suspected impaired driver.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle crash happened around 10:05 p.m. on June 17 along State Route 29 near 11th Street. Responding officers found several occupants injured, including three juvenile passengers.

Emergency crews closed the highway to allow a medical helicopter to land. Two children, ages 5 and 4, were airlifted to UC Davis Hospital, while an 8-year-old child was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

An adult woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities have not released her identity pending notification of her family.

Investigators identified the suspected driver as Fred. After receiving treatment at a local hospital, she was booked into the Lake County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI and other charges. Authorities believe alcohol impairment may have contributed to the crash.

The California Highway Patrol’s Clear Lake Area office continues to investigate the incident.
