Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Highway 24 in Chariton County

CHARITON COUNTY, MO (October 1, 2025) — An 85-year-old woman from Salisbury tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 24 on Wednesday.

The crash occurred when the woman, driving a 2008 Ford Taurus northbound, pulled into the path of a 1994 Kenworth T4. 

The semi-truck struck the Taurus, resulting in a fatal impact.

Authorities confirmed that the elderly driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the Kenworth, who was properly restrained, was not injured.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the collision. 

Names have not been released by MSHP in accordance with their standard reporting policy.
