Driver Arrested after Jefferson City Bicycle Accident on 100 East Dunklin Street

JEFFERSON CITY, CA (April 22, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a startling electric bicycle crash on 100 East Dunklin Street led to injuries.

The incident involving a 1999 GMC Sonoma and an electric bicycle happened at about 5:13 p.m. in the 100 block of East Dunklin Street.

According to reports, a GMC Sonoma was traveling west on East Dunklin Street while an e-bike was heading east. Police said the pickup driver failed to yield while making a left turn and struck the e-bike.

The rider, a 59-year-old man from Jefferson City, suffered critical injuries and was taken to a hospital by EMS.

The driver of the pickup, a 36-year-old man from Mexico, Missouri, sustained minor injuries. Authorities said he showed signs of impairment and was arrested on suspicion of aggravated driving while intoxicated.

The Jefferson City Police Department traffic unit is continuing the criminal investigation.
