Elisia Jaramillo Involved in Hit-and-Run Crash on San Pedro Drive [Albuquerque, NM]

Albuquerque, NM (June 27, 2025) — Albuquerque police cited 43-year-old Elisia Jaramillo after she allegedly fled the scene of a crash on San Pedro Drive that happened during an attempted traffic stop on June 24, 2026.

According to investigators, an Albuquerque Police Department Proactive Response Team officer spotted an Infiniti SUV with suspended registration near San Pedro Drive and Bell Avenue SE. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped away instead.

During the pursuit, the SUV crashed into another vehicle before striking a fence at Jack and Jill Park. Despite losing a wheel, the driver continued traveling for a short distance until the SUV became disabled on California Street.

The driver and passenger then ran from the vehicle. Officers quickly arrested passenger Elisia Jaramillo, while the male driver escaped. Police briefly detained several nearby residents who matched the suspect’s description before determining they were not involved.

Investigators said Jaramillo told officers she had accepted a ride from a man she knew only as “Jesse” and fled because he instructed her to run.

Police issued Jaramillo a criminal summons for leaving the scene of an accident and resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer. The occupant of the other vehicle involved in the crash was evaluated for injuries at the scene. Authorities continue working to identify and locate the driver.
