Okanogan, WA (April 30, 2025) – 77-year-old Ellen Simmermon and 31-year-old Richard Funk both of Okanogan were transported after a 3-Car Collision on SR-20.

According to authorities, the shocking incident happened at round 8:41 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 20 and Old Highway 97.

Reports say that the three-vehicle collision injured two drivers and blocked the intersection of SR-20 Saturday morning.

Authorities say that a Funk attempted to turn left while heading west on SR 20 and failed to yield.

His 1997 Ford Taurus crossed into the path of an eastbound 2013 GMC Terrain driven by Simmermon.

The Terrain struck the Taurus and rolled onto its driver’s side. The Taurus then continued forward and hit a stationary 2002 Toyota pickup driven by 50-year-old Lance A. Manning of Malott.

The crash left all three vehicles disabled and completely blocked the intersection. Family members transported Funk to Mid Valley Hospital, while emergency responders took Simmermon to the same hospital. Manning was not injured.

Authorities confirmed all drivers wore seatbelts and found no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement. The collision remains under investigation.
