Two Killed in Fiery Multi-Vehicle Crash on FM 1233 in Ward County
Ward County, TX (May 21, 2025) — Enrique Flores III and Sergio Lujan Olivas died Monday morning after a fiery multi-vehicle collision on Farm to Market 1233 in Ward County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 6:50 a.m. near mile marker 234. Investigators determined that a 2017 Freightliner pulling a trailer was traveling westbound, while a 2026 Toyota Tundra, driven by 22-year-old Sergio Lujan Olivas, was traveling eastbound. A 2025 Ford F-250 driven by 40-year-old Enrique Flores III was also heading west behind the Freightliner.
Authorities said the Toyota Tundra crossed into the opposite lane and struck the Freightliner’s left rear axle. The pickup then continued forward and collided with the Ford F-250. Both vehicles caught fire after the impact.
Emergency responders pronounced Olivas and Flores III dead at the scene. The Freightliner driver did not suffer injuries.
Officials continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
