Eric Nixon Injured in Pacific Coast Highway Helicopter Crash [Huntington Beach, CA]

Huntington Beach, CA (October 13, 2025) — A helicopter crash near the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa left five people injured Saturday afternoon, including aviation influencer and pilot Eric Nixon.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 2:10 p.m. along Pacific Coast Highway between Twin Dolphins Drive and Beach Boulevard. The helicopter, a 1980 Bell 222, reportedly took off from Redlands Municipal Airport and was participating in the Cars and Copters on the Coast event, an annual showcase of exotic cars and helicopters.

Videos captured by witnesses showed the helicopter spinning out of control before it crashed into palm trees near a bridge connecting the hotel and a beachfront parking lot.

Nixon, known online for his daring aerial stunts, was hospitalized with multiple injuries, including broken ribs and crushed vertebrae. Another passenger, along with two adults and a child on the ground, also sustained injuries. All five were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating the incident.
