Passenger Eric Perez Ramos Dies in Horrific Crash on El Camino Real [San Bruno, CA]

San Bruno, CA (September 4, 2026) — 29-year-old Briand Dominguez Torres faces felony charges after a suspected DUI crash in San Bruno killed his passenger, 22-year-old Eric Perez Ramos.

The San Bruno Police Department said the crash happened around 12:50 a.m. Sunday, near El Camino Real and the westbound Interstate 380 off-ramp.

Investigators said Torres lost control while traveling about 48 mph in a 35-mph zone and slammed into a light pole.

Both the driver and Ramos suffered major injuries and went to a nearby hospital. Ramos later died Tuesday after suffering multiple brain bleeds and a severe spinal injury.

Prosecutors allege Torres had consumed alcohol and cocaine before the crash. A hospital blood test reportedly showed a blood alcohol level of 0.25 and confirmed cocaine use. Investigators also found a small amount of cocaine in his wallet.

Authorities arrested Torres on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI, driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit, and drug possession. He remains in custody without bail and is scheduled to return to court Sept. 9.
